A native of the New Orleans area, Matt Johnson made his way to the Lowcountry in 2011 to attend The College of Charleston and quickly fell in love with the city’s historic architecture, coastal landscape, and relaxed way of life.
After earning a degree in international business and working in the medical sales field, he set out to put roots down in Charleston and purchased a home in Wagener Terrace. The home-buying experience inspired Matt to shift his sights to real estate and make a career out of helping others find a dream home of their own.
As an agent, Matt thrives in the negotiation process and loves getting creative to close a deal. His dedication to understanding his client’s wants and needs have earned him the trust of many residents throughout the Charleston area.
When he’s not in the office, you can likely find this outdoor enthusiast cruising local waterways, enjoying a meal at one of his favorite restaurants, or exploring downtown.
Matt summed up his feelings on real estate perfectly, explaining: “Waking up in Charleston is exciting, but waking up knowing the roof over your head is your own is nothing short of amazing.”
I live in Wagener Terrace. I love being in the Crosstown area—there are tons of new restaurants opening up around us and we are just a quick bike ride/golf cart ride away from the hustle and bustle of downtown.
My favorites are Leon's, 167 Raw, Home Team BBQ, and Sullivan’s Island’s Obstinate Daughter. Plus Graft Wine Bar for a drink.
It’s a tie between SEWE and the Charleston Wine + Food Festival. SEWE brings an awesome draw of outdoorsmen with a focus on conservation. Between the dock dog competition at Brittlebank Park to the Ducks Unlimited oyster roast downtown, it really brings out the Lowcountry vibes. The Wine + Food Culinary Village in Marion Square is one of the top highlights of the year, bringing us access to some of the best food and drinks around the U.S., right in the heart of downtown.
